LCP: A Brief History of Our Time...
|
Who we used to be:
In the beginning, Lens Cap was meant to be a Multi-Media production
company specializing in Mid-range budget($15-$45Million), SciFi films
and TV shows that featured women and minorities in key roles. The way we
planned on working was to develop a story and then work out what media
it would be best suited for with theatrical film as our main
focus-Comics, novelizations, Graphic novels and the like were all meant
to be supplemental.
We set up websites, pages, blogs, an online studio store, chased
investors and waited for the day when we'd have a mega-hit movie and
millions of fans.
Unfortunately, things didn't go just as we planned.
Unscrupulous Brokers, a failing economy and the fact that our own financial situation wasn't that sound to begin with, it looked like Lens Cap would end up being both down and out.

| Who we are today:
We're still committed to bringing our audience quality entertainment. We're still committed to producing SciFi/Horror/Fantasy projects the feature women and minorities.
So, what's different?
We're no longer seeking to do projects with big price tags-Anything we can't finance in-house-Or with the use of a Kickstarter campaign, will not be considered.
This is a good thing as it means that we'll be able to focus our attention on creating content as opposed to spending 99% of our time chasing money.
We've also scaled back on staff: These days it's just Company Owner-Creative Artist Elaine Haygood, and Editor Cathy Doyle (and the occasional intern).
This has actually turned out to be a great thing at this stage because not having to deal with a large, but disconnected group, Elaine and Cathy are actually managing to get things done.As for who we'll be tomorrow...That's the best thing about the future...You really won't know until you get there. |
